Delhi High Court has refused to interfere with the Centre's decision reducing allowances of Air India pilots on account of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, saying the pilots, who were taking home lakhs of rupees in spite of the cut when many others in the country had lost their livelihood, cannot claim victimisation. A division bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad took judicial notice of the complete lockdown in 2020, when all aviation operations were suspended, as well as the fact that pilots across various airlines lost their jobs but Air India ensured there were no lay-offs.

Aviat Airlines Delhi HC allows Go First lessors to access aircraft, carry out maintenance work

FIVE Cooper Man Bank loan fraud: ED arrests ex chairman of Pune cooperative bank in money laundering case
Amar Sadhuram Mulchandani, the ex-chairman of Seva Vikas Cooperative Bank, was arrested on July 1 and a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court sent him to ED custody till July 7, the federal probe agency said in a statement. «The arrest is made in connection with the ongoing investigation in the Seva Vikas Cooperative Bank fraud case in which the bank suffered a loss of Rs 429 crore in 124 NPA (non-performing assets) loan accounts.» «This has caused the bank to go bankrupt causing loss to thousands of small depositors,» the ED said. This is the fifth arrest by the agency in this case. The ED had earlier arrested a man named Sagar Suryawanshi, who took loans from the cooperative bank, two ED staffers working on contract at its Mumbai office and a «close associate» of Mulchandani for allegedly sharing «sensitive» information of this investigation in lieu of bribe.

Aviat Action Airlines Air India passenger detained for carrying 19 live ammunition, FIR registered
A passenger travelling via Air India flight from Delhi to Bengaluru was detained at the Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport for carrying 19 live cartridges without proper documentation.  The passenger identified as Ajay Kumar Bana was detained at the time of boarding and a case against him has been registered under section 25 of the Arms Act at the IGI Airport Police Station, news agency ANI reported.  Recently, an Air India passenger onboard the Mumbai-Delhi Air India Flight AIC 866 was also arrested for allegedly defecating and urinating onboard the aeroplane. The passenger was identified as Ram Singh who worked as a cook in Africa.  As per the FIR filed at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, the passenger allegedly defecated, urinated and spat in row 9 DEF of the aircraft.
