The deceased were identified as Rohini Hyalinge (27), who was pregnant, her five-year-old daughter Pari, Piyush Patil (33), and his wife Vrunda (31). Rohini’s younger daughter, Sai (3), sustained serious injuries and remains in critical condition. The Hyalinge family resides in Kalyan, while the Patil family is from Badlapur.
The accident occurred at 4 a.m. on a flyover in Ghateghar, located in Shahapur taluka. According to police reports, a tempo’s tyre burst caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The tempo veered across the median and collided with three oncoming vehicles, including the luxury bus carrying most of the injured passengers.
Three victims died on the spot, while five-year-old Pari succumbed to her injuries during treatment at the Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar. Locals informed the Shahapur police, who dispatched a team to the site. The injured
