James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, has addressed recent rumors circulating about potential films centered on Batman villains. With Robert Pattinson's The Batman franchise running separately from the new DC Universe, there has been increasing speculation about various projects involving the Dark Knight's rogues' gallery.
Gunn, who is set to debut his version of Batman in the upcoming film The Brave and the Bold, took to social media to respond directly to these rumors.
In particular, a rumor had surfaced suggesting that Matt Reeves, the director behind The Batman, was developing a solo film for the iconic Batman villain, Mr. Freeze, as mentioned in a report by Screenrant. Fans of the DC Universe were eager to hear more, prompting Gunn to weigh in and clear up the situation.
Speaking on Threads, Gunn responded to fan inquiries regarding a possible Mr. Freeze movie. He addressed the larger wave of rumors about potential DC films, stating, “Some of them are true, some are partially true, and some aren’t true at all.”
He further emphasized that fans should not accept any rumors as fact unless confirmed by either him or his fellow DC Studios co-CEO, Peter Safran.
