Lisa del Giocondo, the inspiration for Leonardo da Vinci's «Mona Lisa,» is currently for sale. Situated in the Italian municipality of Scandicci, west of Florence, this 700-year-old mansion is significant both historically and architecturally. The iconic artwork of his wife was commissioned by Francesco del Giocondo, who owned the house. Since the late 1700s, this piece of art has been the main attraction at the Paris Louvre, as per the reports of the New York Post.
According to Mansion Global, Sara Castriota Scanderbeg of Italy Sotheby's International Realty is the agent for the villa, which is now listed for $19.66 million. Head of residential at Italy Sotheby's International Realty Diletta Giorgolo emphasized the estate's significance in both art and history. She mentioned that the Superintendence for Architectural and Landscape Heritage has it registered. Currently, a family of Florentine entrepreneurs resides there privately and it is maintained properly.
Constructed in 1300, the villa was acquired by the Giocondo family in 1498, just before Leonardo da Vinci's painting of Lisa. The Antinori family subsequently acquired ownership of the land, which is now officially known as Villa Antinori di Monte Aguglioni. The home has undergone extensive modifications, yet many of the original characteristics remain. A private chapel that represents seventeenth-century religious architecture is one noteworthy feature.
