Banerjee stated, “Fresh funds worth Rs 9600 crore have been allocated for the 'Banglar Bari' scheme, benefiting 16 lakh people in its second phase." The state budget has allocated Rs 9600 crore for 16 lakh families under the second phase of the 'Banglar Bari' scheme, introduced by the state government after the Centre stopped funding for PM Awas Yojana.
«In this phase, we aim to cover an additional 16 lakh eligible families. They will receive the first installment (Rs. 60,000 per family) by December this year. I have allocated Rs. 9,600 crore for this purpose,” the budget statement read.
